Why do you want to be part of Survivor?: Survivor has a way of forcing people to be vulnerable, reflect and see themselves in a new light. I would love to encourage those little Black boys and girls, those in low economic areas and my family and friends what we can do despite our disadvantaged beginnings. I also want to stop going through the motions of life and meet the new, unapologetic Sharonda.
What’s one life experience you feel has prepared you for the game?: Growing up in Pompano Beach in a single parent household taught me that you have to work hard for everything you want and to be appreciative. This game comes with ups and downs but as long as you put the work in and don’t become complacent, you can make it far!
Which previous player do you identify with the most? Who do you think you will play most like?: I identify with Cirie the most because I am shocked by the things I am able to accomplish. She is also a strong Black woman.
What will you value in an alliance partner?: Loyalty but adaptability. If plans change 5 minutes before tribal, you need to be both and ready to make it happen...otherwise, you are next!
Favorite hobbies: Fishing, reading, and watching sports with my husband
Pet Peeves: Loud chewers. I cannot stand the sound of someone chewing with their mouth open.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of?: Making my family proud! Whether that’s being a doctor or just a decent human being.
What is something we would never know from looking at you?: I was first chair in orchestra. I played violin at Disney. I was also a science nerd and loved NASA!
Who in your life is your biggest inspiration and why?: My maternal grandparents are my biggest inspiration. They had to drop out of school, work the bean fields and sacrifice so much. They are loving and supportive despite their trials and tribulations. I owe everything to them.
Why will you be the Sole Survivor?: Life has trained me for this very moment! There isn’t one thing this game can throw at me that I haven’t already endured. I was made for this!
