W zeszłym roku powstało Survivor Hall Of Fame, czyl Aleja Chwały Survivor'a. Na podstawie głosów jury i głosów fanów wybrano 5 zawodników, którzy się znaleźli w tej alei. Byli to:
- Rob Mariano (Marquesas, All Stars, Heroes vs Villains, Redemption Island)
- Russell Hantz (Samoa, Heroes vs Villains, Redemption Island)
- Richard Hatch (Borneo, All Stars)
- Parvati Shallow (Cook Islands, Fans vs Favorites, Heroes vs Villains)
- Sandra Diaz Twine (Pearl Islands, Heroes vs Villains)

W tym roku startuje kolejna edycja i do Hall Of Fame dołączą kolejni uczestnicy. Członkowie tegorocznego jury nominują kandydatów, na których będzie można głosować. Co kilka dni podawane są kandydatury każdego z członków jury. Oto aktualne kandydatury (kolejne dodam jak się pojawią) wraz z uzasadnieniami:

1. Kandydaci Rob'a Mariano:

Cirie Fields – (“Survivor: Panama,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): She played a great strategic and social game all three times. She is super smart and definitely someone that is a threat every time. Cirie is someone you would want in your alliance and not outside of it.

Rudy Boesch – (“Survivor: Borneo” and “Survivor: All Stars”): He’s a legend in my mind. He was the first to speak his mind, you always knew where Rudy stood. I don’t see how you can have a Hall of Fame and not have Rudy in it.

Tom Westman – (“Survivor: Palau” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): He’s an all-around great player; physically, socially, and strategically. Everyone loved Tom because he truly is a great guy and a fierce competitor.

2. Propozycje Jesse Jensen'a (producent Survivora):

Ozzy Lusth – (“Survivor: Cook Islands,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites, and “Survivor: South Pacific”): He has not only played the game three times but is probably the most accomplished performer in challenges we have ever seen on the show. He is a power house both in and out of the water but also has a calm, focused way about him that keeps his mind clear to also dominate in the problem-solving and puzzle elements of the challenges. Not always the best strategist, but the fact he has consistently entertained us as probably the best challenge competitor and camp provider ever on the show alone should put him in the Hall of Fame.

Rupert Boneham – (“Survivor: Pearl Islands,” “Survivor: All Stars,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): I admit he has never performed that well in either challenges or strategy…but he is such an iconic character for the show. This totally showed when America voted him the million-dollar winner on “Survivor: America’s Tribal Council,” a special episode to the “All Star” season. The vote was purely based on popularity and he received around 85% of the vote. I think as people look back at the show Rupert, especially in his earlier seasons, was such a big character and identity to the show and for that alone he deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Stephenie LaGrossa – (“Survivor: Palau,” “Survivor: Guatemala,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): I’m going to nominate Stephenie again this year. Like the others she has played the game three times. Her first season in Palau she was extremely popular and she showed us what an amazing battler and physical competitor she is. She was such a good personality and player that we brought her back to compete in Guatemala. She did great in Guatemala and in my opinion could have gone a lot further on “Heroes vs. Villains” but, she seemed to be fighting an uphill battle the whole time. Great physical and mental player. In my opinion, one of the most well rounded and popular players never to win the game.

3.Propozycje Russell'a Huntz'a:

Amanda Kimmel – (“Survivor: China,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): She struck me out more than anybody I have ever played with. She was so strategic. Anybody that strategic is dangerous. She went to the end twice in a row for a reason.

Ozzy Lusth – (“Survivor: Cook Islands,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”): There are a bunch of aspects to the game; social, physical, and strategic. The most physical player to ever play this game is Ozzy. You have to give him credit for that. He is the number one most physical player to ever play the game by far.

Stephanie Valencia – (“Survivor: Redemption Island”): I played with her and I played with all-stars. I played with the best of the best. She had what it took to be the best, but she was on the wrong season. She happened to align with the wrong people. She was great at the game but got on the wrong end of the deal. I think Stephanie could have been 10 times better than Parvati (Shallow).

4. Propozycje Sandry Diaz Twine:

Todd Herzog – (“Survivor: China”): He took early control of his tribe with his social game and made his tribe trust him. He was instrumental in blindsiding James, Frosti, and Jean Robert, (making James the dumbest player at the time, going home with two idols in his possession). Plus, he had one of the best Tribal Councils where he admitted to lying and was still awarded the million dollars.

Rob Cesternino – (“Survivor: The Amazon” and “Survivor: All Stars”): He was an aggressive strategic player who didn’t believe in loyalty, was effective at switching alliances to keep himself in the game, and always had several deals on the table. He went with whatever benefited him and kept him alive in the game.

Tom Westman – (“Survivor: Palau” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): He was respected by his entire tribe who recognized his leadership abilities. Tom was a challenge dominator. His physical strength ensured several tribe and individual immunity victories, and he maintained integrity and loyalty to his alliance.

5. Propozycje Jeff'a Probst'a:

Cirie Fields – (“Survivor: Panama,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): Though she has never won, Cirie is one of the most effective players in Survivor history. Her asset is her disarming smile and her ability to make you forget that she is your opponent. She also deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame because she epitomizes the person who got up off the couch to live their adventure and that’s what the show is all about.

Ethan Zohn – (“Survivor: Africa” and “Survivor: All Stars”): Ethan should have been a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He is one of the greatest winners of all time. He played with integrity. People voted for him to win rather than to vote against someone else. He took his celebrity and some of his money and put it towards making the world a better place, and he is still adored by almost everybody who meets him. It was an oversight on my part not to nominate him last time.

Stephenie LaGrossa – (“Survivor: Palau,” “Survivor: Guatemala,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): Though labeled by some as a whiner, there’s no denying she plays to win every time. She’s a great physical player and a very good strategist. Despite her weak showing in “Heroes vs. Villains,” if I was putting together an all-star tribe, she’d be on it.

From the deluded Dragon Slayer, to (an emotionally conflicted) strategic “Survivor” player, whose humanity is inspiring by being truly conflicted between being honorable and doing what it takes to get to the end.

Cirie Fields – (“Survivor: Panama,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): She was never able to win it all, because she was always the (unlikely) biggest threat. Her strategy, attitude, and iconic “Survivor” stature, I believe, make her a perfect Hall of Famer.

Amanda Kimmel – (“Survivor: China,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): No denying it was her strategic mind and love of the game that took her to the very end twice, but could never pull it together to sway the jury. She was involved in designing some of the greatest blindsides and gave us great television. Her reveal of the hidden immunity idol in “Fans vs. Favorites” was a classic American television moment.

Jerri Manthey – (“Survivor: The Australian Outback,” “Survivor: All Stars,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): Gotta give it up to the original man eater! The girl had game in “Heroes vs. Villains” where she earned my respect.

Ethan Zohn – (“Survivor: Africa” and “Survivor: All Stars”): A true “Survivor” hero. Ethan’s a winner. He fights cancer, runs marathons, and founded GrassRoots Soccer, an AIDS education/prevention charity for kids in Africa. Love him madly.

Jenna Morasca – (“Survivor: The Amazon” and “Survivor: All Stars”): The hottest, youngest female winner. She made peanut butter sexy. Jenna makes no apologies for who she is and always tells it like it is.

Yul Kwon – (“Survivor: Cook Islands”): I re-affirm; Yul’s ability to maneuver, manipulate, and mesmerize without being nasty makes him the “good guy,” “intellectual” version of Russell Hantz. Which proves that nice guys can actually win. Plus, if not for Ozzy being on the same season he would have been remembered as a physical threat as well.

Benjamin “Coach” Wade – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”): Third time’s a charm. With “Survivor: South Pacific,” Coach has proven that in addition to being a Dragon Slayer he is a savvy, canny, adaptable player. He went from a “day-one” status of being dead in the water to leading his tribe, defining an alliance’s ethics and strategy, and, thus far, making it deep into the game. And he did it with a genuine desire to be a principled player – as much as one can be in “Survivor”…

Ozzy Lusth – (“Survivor: Cook Islands,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”): Again I forward Ozzy as one of the greats. Genetically bred to play the game from a physical perspective, we now must add to his list of accomplishments a heightened understanding of his own strengths and weaknesses, that is self-awareness — which led directly to the brash, risky, and well-considered strategic moves of this season. You have to contend that he is one of the best to play the game.

Drusilla Moorhouse is an Editor for E! Online, where she celebrates TV and celebrity gossip with a liberal dose of exclamation points. A fanatic of the “Eco Challenge” producer Mark Burnett’s O.G. reality competition, Dru carried a torch for “Survivor” even before the first pixelated images of Richard Hatch hit the airwaves.

Ozzy Lusth – (“Survivor: Cook Islands,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”): Hall of Fame or Hall of Shame, the blissed-out beach bum deserves a spot in the record books for schooling his competitors in challenges and making tree monkeys seem clumsy. Sure, he left his Immunity Idol at camp when he needed it most and might be too naive for this cutthroat game, but he’s still a “Survivor” star. Plus, he’s hot.

Rudy Boesch – (“Survivor: Borneo” and “Survivor: All Stars”): This: “Me and Richard got to be pretty good friends—not in a homosexual way, that’s for sure.”

Tom Westman – (“Survivor: Palau” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): Tom is the Bruce Willis of “Survivor”—only more handsome and courageous. The New York City firefighter’s leadership, strength, indomitability, and integrity earned him the admiration of his fans and fellow Palau competitors, who gave him a million dollars—and top billing.

Mara Reinstein – US Weekly

Mara Reinstein is the movie critic for Us Weekly magazine. But thanks to her unofficial title as Resident “Survivor” Fanatic, she has somehow finagled her way into 10 (!) “Survivor” location visits since 2004.

Ozzy Lusth – (“Survivor: Cook Islands,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”): The human dolphin continues to read at a 3rd grade level when it comes to the social game. He’s played so poorly during “Survivor: South Pacific” (is it the ego or the hair?), he should send thank you notes to the producers for creating Redemption Island.

Stephenie LaGrossa – (“Survivor: Palau,” “Survivor: Guatemala,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): I saw this firsthand: During the first challenge of “Heroes vs. Villains,” she separated her shoulder, popped it back in, then went back in the game! Advil, be damned! Plus, you still got to admire what she accomplished in Palau. She didn’t have to resort to awkward flirting, either.

Ethan Zohn – (“Survivor: The Amazon” and “Survivor: All Stars”): It’s the sentimental choice, but screw it. The guy is a champ.

Dalton Ross – Entertainment Weekly

Dalton Ross is the Assistant Managing Editor of Entertainment Weekly. He may have written about this show once or twice over the past 10 years.

Tom Westman – (“Survivor: Palau” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): Until Boston Rob on “Redemption Island,” Tom had the most dominating season in “Survivor” history in Palau when you factor in physical, social, and strategic gameplay. He led his tribe to an undefeated ass-whupping of the Ulong tribe, then coasted post-merge to the win. How the hell was he not in the original Hall of Fame class? Who’s voting on these things anyway?

Cirie Fields – (“Survivor: Panama,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains”): What’s incredible about Cirie is how far she came from when she first started on “Exile Island.” The woman was afraid of the outdoors for crissakes! But she evolved into a stone cold killer who would have won “Fans vs. Favorites” had there not been so many injuries to other players (causing producers to abort the original final-three plan). I loved watching Cirie go from a woman completely out of her element to someone who not only survived, but thrived as well.

Ozzy Lusth – (“Survivor: Cook Islands,” “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites,” and “Survivor: South Pacific”): Okay, his strategic game is not very good, and his social game is even worse. But if anyone was ever born to be left to his own devices on an island, it’s Ozzy. The guy is the absolute epitome of the living off the land conceit that “Survivor” is all about. He’s also arguably the best challenge competitor the game has ever seen. And consider this: He only lost to Yul by one vote in “Cook Islands” and has made it to at least the jury all three times he’s played. Compare that to Boston Rob, who twice failed to even make the jury. Ozzy may only represent one facet of the game, but he represents it better than anyone.

Rob Cesternino – (“Survivor: The Amazon” and “Survivor: All Stars”): Rob Cesternino was one of my picks for “Survivor” Mount Rushmore back in 2008 and he will stay on my ballot until he is a member of the “Survivor” Hall of Fame. I credit Rob with changing what had become a very boring game. Before Rob played, Survivors would stick with their alliances after the merge. It led to some very boring episodes while we waited for the lower-numbered tribe to be eliminated. Rob’s strategy of whittling down your alliance to stay off of the chopping block revolutionized the way the game is played. Sadly, the last two seasons have reverted back to the stick-to-your-tribe ways. We need to get a new Cesternino in there.

Jon “Jonny Fairplay” Dalton – (“Survivor: Pearl Islands” and “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites”): I’ll put Fairplay in the same boat with Cesternino. They both changed the game and will stay on my ballot until they’re inducted. Jonny Fairplay changed the game with his infamous “Grandmother” lie. Not only did it set the precedent that you couldn’t believe anything people said about their lives back home (and Jim Rice had some fun with that this season.) But, it also removed the ceiling (floor?) for what is considered an unforgivable lie. Think about it; the public didn’t bat an eyelash when Russell Hantz said he was a fireman during Katrina who’d lost his dog.

Rudy Boesch – (“Survivor: Borneo” and “Survivor: All Stars”): Now that I’ve voted for the “Survivor” innovators who aren’t in the Hall, I’m ready to move on to the “Survivor” icons. First on that list for me is Mr. Rudy Boesch. The former Navy SEAL was one of reality TV’s first characters back before the idea of a real person being a character on a reality show even existed. His bizarre, heartwarming relationship with Richard Hatch helped turn the show into a ratings juggernaut and his face (along with Hatch, Rupert Boneham, and Jerri Manthey) is one of the first many think of when they hear the word “Survivor.” That, and he’s in the “Survivor” slot machine, which is awesome.

How does it feel to be honored by a vote made up of your “Survivor” peers, the ‘Survivor’ production crew, the press, and the fans?
Cirie: Being a fan of the show since the days of Richard Hatch, when I was first chosen to be on “Survivor” I was in total disbelief. To think that of the hundreds of thousands of people who apply I was the one selected. The whole experience was surreal. But now to be voted into the Hall of Fame is more than unbelievable. My whole “Survivor” experience was amazing, the places I got to see, to be able to play the game that I enjoy and more importantly, to meet the greatest people ever, both on the show and behind the scenes. Everyone was so gracious and inviting, making my entire experience the adventure of a lifetime and for that I’m truly grateful. But now, to be selected by the fans, the crew and the press is more than I can fathom. I have been humbled by the entire experience and coming from the “girl on the couch” who thought she could play this game I am so very grateful to everyone. This was the opportunity of a lifetime for me and the friends and fans will be in my heart always. Thanks to everyone.

What’ve you been up to since we last saw you?
Cirie: Right after “Heroes vs. Villains” I went to Japan with other “Survivor” alumni to support the troops. I also auditioned for a role on a talk show. Just being considered for something like that boggles my mind and eases the pain of not getting it. Since then I’ve been working and spending time with my wonderful family and watching my three boys grow into three handsome young men (where did the time go?). Now I’ve thrusted myself into furthering my career as an operating room nurse coordinator.

Are you enjoying “Survivor: South Pacific”?
Cirie: Well, I can’t help but envy the notion of Redemption Island, and watching a player like Cochran who’s really bright, hilariously funny, and physically inept. I can see myself in him so I was really rooting for him. Ozzy, what can I say? He’s still amazing, I think after the show wraps up he’ll probably stay another few weeks just for the hell of it and who’s better suited? Brandon leaves me questioning my own faith and his sanity at times. I see Coach in a different light now. He has transformed from the quirky Dragon Slayer to a savvy ruler and tribesman slayer. You go, boy! I love all the new challenges, but, I always love them from the couch and not so much on the beach as a participant. Great season! I can’t wait to see who will be the sole survivor.

We had a chance to speak with the newly crowned Hall of Famer to get his thoughts on his induction…

How does it feel to be honored by a vote made up of your “Survivor” peers, the ‘Survivor’ production crew, the press, and the fans?
Tom Westman: Truly honored to have even been chosen as an inductee to the “Survivor” Hall of Fame. I have a lot of respect for some of the stand-out players in the game, and it is great to be considered in their company. I am proud to be a part of a production that has continued to set the bar for quality and entertainment in the reality TV world. One of the greatest compliments I have received came from a camera person who was not able to speak to us during the game, but connected once the final Tribal Council wrapped. He said that after 10 seasons, and 160 players, he had not seen anyone enjoy the experience more than me. I recognized how unique the situation was, and appreciated every moment. The game is exceptional on so many levels, and it is why I continue to be hooked on it today.

My experience with fans of the show has always been a pleasure. Every aspect of participating on “Survivor” has been positive. It has let me get to know some wonderful people. Many fans point out that it is one of the few shows that they watch as a family. This is true in my home as well.

What’ve you been up to since we last saw you on the show?
Westman: I retired from the FDNY in 2005 and entered the corporate world as a sales rep selling group benefits to corporations. It was a radical change in life style, but one that I have enjoyed.

What are your thoughts on “Survivor: South Pacific”?
Westman: I have been watching the current season, and feel it is one of the better ones. Interesting characters, great challenges, and plenty of drama.

I have to start by saying that this is always a very difficult task. There are so many players who deserve to be and will end up being in the “Survivor” Hall of Fame. But, since I am limited to three choices I am going to spread them across three different categories and I hope former players appreciate that I realize there are many of you who deserve to be in here!

John Cochran – (“Survivor: South Pacific” and “Survivor: Caramoan – Fans vs. Favorites”) I’m nominating Cochran because I think more than anyone who has ever played the game he best represents the idea of “on any given day, anything can happen.” This was one of the big hopes we had for the show from the beginning — that in the right situation — anybody, even the most unlikely person, could win “Survivor.” I found Cochran’s story to be very inspiring. He went from the “zero in 90210″ the first time he played — to the winner of “Fans vs. Favorites.” And yet, despite winning the game, his self-deprecation remains intact. If you congratulate him for winning, he’ll say “Yeah but it took me two times, so I can’t be that good.” You are that good, Cochran and you deserve a spot in the “Survivor” Hall of Fame.

Malcolm Freberg – (“Survivor: Philippines” and “Survivor: Caramoan – Fans vs. Favorites”) I’m also nominated Malcolm because he’s such a fan favorite. Men want to hang with him, women want to sleep with him, kids want to be like him. He’s got it covered. I also like what Malcolm represents and that is the idea that in life – being likable can get you a long way. There are definitely better “Survivor” strategists but Malcolm plays with a heart and a drive to win that is undeniable and I find that worthy of the “Survivor” Hall of Fame.

I’m also nominating … wait for it… COACH!

Benjamin “Coach” Wade – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” and “Survivor: South Pacific”) At first glance, Coach may seem an unlikely candidate given there are still so many winners (JT, Sophie, Kim, Yul, just to name a few) that aren’t yet in the Hall. But, hear me out. Coach represents yet another idea that is a big part of the success of “Survivor” – and that is his “bigger than life” approach to everything he does. I liken Coach to the guy who wears the Laker jersey and sits in his lucky chair because he truly believes if he does, the Lakers will win. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not – he believes it to be true, so in his soul, in his cells, it is true. I gave Coach a hard time nearly every day he was out there, but I thoroughly enjoyed him because he brought it every single day. He never gave up. In fact, when he was down is when he would give you even more. Who can forget the epic scene from Exile Island! Coach is easy to mock but the truth is he is one of our most popular players for a reason – he’s fun to watch – and that makes him worthy of a spot in the “Survivor” Hall of Fame.

Nominacje Russell'a:

My first nominee is a surprise to all. It is of course how I think, and I think out the box. He has tied for the most challenges won in “Survivor” history with Tom Westman, who is already inducted into the Hall of Fame. Even though Tom sat out two challenges they won a record setting 17 and he himself never once sat out a challenge. His social and strategic game was just as impressive. It got him to the final five. Just because you’re not a “popular” player does not mean you’re not Hall of Fame material. His name is Kenward Bernis. “Boo” “Superboo” “Survivor: Fiji” player. #Superboo

My next choice even shocks me. I do not like who he is as a person. I do not like who he is as a man, but you do have to respect some of the best moves in the game. He is the first villain that made a huge play. Jonny Fairplay (“Survivor: Pearl Islands” and “Survivor: Micronesia”) made an exceptional move that will be remembered for the rest of everyone’s life. This legend deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

She also may not be well remembered, but she may be one of the best players to ever play the game. Her social game was impeccable. Her strategic game was flawless. Her physical game proved to be her strength with 4 individual immunity wins getting her to the finals. Her name is Kim Spradlin (“Survivor: One World”). Again just because they are not extremely “popular” does not mean they don’t deserve to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Nominacje Parvati:

Kim Spradlin – (“Survivor: One World”) I love a girl’s girl. Kim Spradlin provided the single greatest performance by any first-time player. It’s tough for anyone to play “Survivor,” make friends, betray them, and still earn their votes in the end. Kim managed to do it all with a smile on her face, including challenge domination. You’ve got to give her Hall of Fame credit for that. And for the critics that would say that she beat a poor selection of players; that was not in her control. She didn’t draft them. The best she could do was beat them all. And she did.

Benjamin “Coach” Wade – (“Survivor: Tocantins,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” and “Survivor: South Pacific”) I just love this guy and his metamorphosis through each of his three seasons competing on “Survivor.” He stole our hearts as the tai chi practicing man of the mountain in Tocantins. He let his vulnerability shine through in “Heroes vs. Villains” as he cried to Tyson in the night, saying, “I just want people to like me.” Although he didn’t win, he seriously amped up his play against Ozzy and the cast of newbies on “South Pacific,” making it all the way to a runner-up finish. He’s the warrior who recognized my excellent play with a vote in the end of “Heroes v Villains,” and for that, he has my vote now.

Eliza Orlins – (“Survivor: Vanuatu” and “Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites) The female version of Rob Cesternino, this woman has elevated “Survivor” analytics and fangirl-ism to an art form. If I have any question about anything that has every happened, or possibly happened or maybe not happened on a season of “Survivor,” Eliza is the one to ask. She made herself one of the most recognizable women of “Survivor” by her jury facial expressions alone. She was my nemesis on “Fans vs. Faves” and now, I am proud to call her my friend.
