Why do you want to be part of Survivor?: I have been applying for Survivor since the middle of season 1. It has become the lens through which I view and navigate the world – however, dysfunctional that may be. I am excited for the adventure, competition, and challenge. And excited to play big, fully, and propulsively to the end.
What’s one life experience you feel has prepared you for the game? My entire existence has prepared me for the game. Growing up in the mountains of Idaho, navigating the world as a queer woman leading teams, finding and sometimes making community, and turning my traumas into a career serving LGBTQ+ community especially in moments of crisis.
Which previous player do you identify with the most? Who do you think you will play most like? I identify with Rachel LaMont. She’s the first player who played the way I think about the game. She was quirky, likable, smart, innovative, and lucky.
What will you value in an alliance partner? My dream alliance partner is someone I can know in my bones wants to go to the end with me and has the ability to think innovatively through complex situations quickly. Also, someone who wants to get up to mischief together. Papaya bandits, anyone?
Favorite hobbies: Road cycling, training my husky dog to talk with buttons, applying for Survivor (I’m on the hunt for a new hobby…).
Pet Peeves: I really dislike the term “pet peeve.” Like, what even is that? Sounds like a poltergeist dog. Crumbs on the kitchen counter – really any surface – send me.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Creating an intergenerational culinary arts program for LGBTQ+ youth and seniors. Thousands of people have had their lives touched by that program.
What is something we would never know from looking at you? I carry rocks in my bra usually for protection, but it changes based on my mood, and any particular meetings I have that day.
Who in your life is your biggest inspiration and why? Honestly, a long time ago, I decided to be my own inspiration. I draw strength from nature, family, friends, ancestors and the connection we all have.
Why will you be the Sole Survivor? The stars are literally aligned for an Aries, for the next 26 days. Like for real. The sun, planets, everything. And the moon phases form my Scorpio rising and Scorpio moon, too!
